March Update

Hello Prayer Warriors!

We just wanted to send a quick update on our situation with our move and ministry in Utah. JR and Becky are flying to Utah this Thurs. to meet with Mickie, the church planter, and the Crossings Church. We will be in Utah for 5 days, and we will be very busy while we are there! J.R. will begin looking for a job, and we hope to secure some idea of housing as well. We will also get to worship with Crossings Church for the first time! Yeah! They have asked J.R. to share his heart with the people, so please be in prayer for that as well. Our estimated date for moving is the middle of May, but that is obviously dependent upon a job for J.R. Because pretty much everything is controlled by the LDS church there (97% Mormon in the town where we are going), so it may seem difficult to find a job. However, we know that our God is bigger than that, so we have faith that He will provide the perfect job for J.R. in His perfect time. As far as finding housing goes, that may already be taken care of.

Our major prayer requests at this time:
*A job for J.R. in Utah
*Housing for us in Utah
*Safe travel to and from Utah this weekend
*Emily's health problem--we see the urologist on Apr. 1
*Continuing to gather support from NAMB and individual churches


Praises:
*J.R. was able to find a good 4 wheel drive truck that we could afford for the snowy conditions in Utah.
*We now have 4 churches that have pledged to support us.

Praise of the Day!

We have moved into our new home in Bowie! God blessed with a 3 bedroom house (so the kids can each have their own rooms), and it's more room than we've ever had before. JR's job is going pretty well. JR spoke at a men's prayer breakfast yesterday to spread our vision for Utah, and next weekend we'll all be travelling to attend our college Homecoming and share our vision with the church we served in there. God even provided a hotel room at our favorite hotel that was supposed to be full.

We have made some new couple friends, and we are starting a couples'/family Bible study with them this Tuesday night. There are many young couples at the church we are attending, but very few of them are active in Sunday school. We are working with J and J to start a home group to reach out to these families and draw them into Sunday school and discipleship.

Another little--but significant--praise: Emily sat through an entire worship service last night! If you know our darling daughter, you know that is quite a feat. God is working in her little heart and life everyday, but we are learning to be faithful to pray for her and Adrian.

So it begins...

This is our first post (obviously), but we wanted to develop this blog in order to keep our friends, family, and other prayer partners posted on the developments in our lives and ministry. We are currently in the process of applying through NAMB to be Apprentice Church Planters in Payson, UT.

Prayer Needs:

• A smooth process with NAMB
• Crossings Church in Payson, UT
• A home for us to rent for the next few months until we get to Utah
• Our family during all of these changes and transitions
